Class meets 9 consecutive weeks, 2:00 to 4:00 on Saturday, starting June 30, 2012

All classes are taught by working, experienced Alix Adams talent
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
This class will prepare the students for actual paid jobs in the regional talent market, for example, commercial print and video.

COMMERCIALS I
An experienced Alix Adams talent teaches the basics of voice and acting for TV Commercials. Students are given a "Making a Demo" memo that contains 20 commercials. Each student selects 1 commercial to memorize and perfect for the following week.
COMMERCIALS II
Each student rehearses their script in front of the class, the teacher making suggestions for improvement for taping the following week. Auditioning tips are taught, including the "Cold read".
COMMERCIALS III
Students come to class prepared to tape their commercial demo in our video studio. This demo may be used on the Alix Adams website, pending approval of the agency director.
COMMERCIALS IV
All the demos are played, with the teacher and class critiquing. Retaping of videos can be scheduled if the student wishes.
PHOTO ACTING
Print work requires talent to become "characters" , not just frozen, mannequins. You will learn to follow a director's instructions on a shoot and develop an inventory of facial expressions.
PHOTO POSING
Natural body movement when posing is essential in "life style" commercial photography. Teacher will demonstrate fluid motion and refinement of posing techniques.
PROFESSIONAL MAKE-UP TECHNIQUES
A licensed cosmetician will teach on camera make up as well as diagnosing and clearing up skin problems, applying corrective make-up , choosing the best colors, and short cuts in reducing time for make-up application.
PRACTICE PHOTO SHOOT
Long time Alix associate/client photographers along with your posing instructor help you shoot headshot and fullbody shots. Students receive the disc for their personal use.
BUSINESS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Taught by Alix Adams owner Dick Anderson. He discusses how the business works, contracts, pay rates, web site presence and why Alix Adams talent have been considered the best for 63 years.

$340.00 , which can be paid in 9 weekly installments of $35.00, plus a $25.00
